I rarely post music here… Why? Because, I’ll confess, I RARELY ever listen when anyone else posts music.
I’m SORRY omg I’m sorry! I feel like such a jerk now… But I can’t lie. I just… I don’t. I’ll read nine-kajillion word blog posts two or three times, no sweat. But the musical posts? I just can’t get into ‘em most days.
So I sort of figure no one else is listening either.
(I’m clearly a raging narcissist. *flips hair back* If I do something, you lot must be doing it too. And if I don’t do something, obviously you guys don’t do it either. I mean, right? Right.)
Anyway, I love this song far too much not to post it. I really LOVE it. A lot a lot a lot. As one of the comments on the youtube video says:
“This is how love should sound.”
Lyrics first (adjusted for the live version – he changes a few things) and the video second. It’s only about three and a half minutes long. And it’s live – categorically the ONLY way to judge a musician.
Since I rarely do it, I don’t expect any of you to read and listen.
I just hope you do.
Desire
by Ryan Adams
(featuring The Cardinals in this version)
Two hearts fading, like a flower
And all this waiting, for the power
For some answer, to this fire
Sinking slowly, the water’s higher
Desire
With no secrets and no obsession
This time I’m speeding in no direction
Without a reason. What is this fire?
Sinking slowly, my one and only
Desire
You know me, you don’t mind waiting
You just can’t show me, but God I’m praying
That you’ll find me, you’ll see me,
You’ll run and never tire
Desire
I’m such a moron; I stopped at the lyrics and went to YouTube to find the song, YouTube wouldn’t load for some reason, so I went elsewhere, got frustrated, came back here to make a note of the song and then saw you’d linked it. DUH!
Beautiful song, thanks!

You’re right about music on blogs; I post it, but I only play some of the music posted on other blogs, lol. I played this one and you’re right, it’s a pretty song.
Taste in music and what sparks us inside when listening to a particular piece is HIGHLY individualized I think.
Thanks for sharing this Chloe. *smile*

I luurve music and yea I post it but I don’t actually expect many to listen to it, i know a couple of peeps do. I normally post music to portray a mood I just can’t write out in words, I play music to sate moods. I really liked that song alot. There are some that sound horrid live, that was beeeeuwitful and uber mushy! xxx

You know I’ve used music quite a bit…sometimes when I can’t find the words, sometimes just to share. I must admit to listening to the music posts I find on other blogs more often than I don’t, because I love music, and I love discovering new songs/artists…..as I did this time. Thank you for sharing sweety. This was lovely.
love and hugs xxx
